Abstract
În ultimul deceniu, în ţara noastră s-au produs o serie de modificări structurale la nivelul întregii societăţi în principal pe plan economic cu efecte esenţiale şi pe plan social. Au intervenit schimbări în numărul şi structura populaţiei situaţie existentă la un moment dat. Indiferent că ne referim la mediul de rezidenţă, sex sau statut ocupaţional - la întregul volum de date şi informaţii, aşa cum s-au înregistrat, de exemplu, la Recensământul Populaţiei şi al Locuinţelor din 18 martie 2002 la nivelul comunelor, oraşelor, municipiilor şi judeţelor – ca unităţi administrativ teritoriale, şi de asemenea al regiunilor de dezvoltare, schimbări care rezultă din datele şi informaţiile statistice ofi ciale publicate în ultimii zece ani.
