Selected aspects of quality in the sphere of pre-production

Abstract
The use of models significantly reduces the preparation process of a new product and its manufacturing (sphere of pre-production). One of the aspects of the quality expected from these models is the surface roughness. Models made by rapid prototyping method have a stairstep effect on sloped surfaces. To avoid this it is recommended to set the model in the way the most of surfaces are vertical or horizontal. Unfortunately, there are some irregularities formed on vertical surfaces. This article describes the process of creating additional irregularities on vertical surfaces of elements made by Stereolithography method, and presents experimental studies showing the structure of the resulting roughness.
