SELF-AS SESSMENT OF STUDENTS PERFORMANCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB

Abstract

Stu dents spend a lar ger por tion of your ti me in studying and pre pa ring for their fu tu re pro fes sion and oc cu pa tion. Sin ce pro fes si o nal sta tus and in fl u en ce will be on all ot her aspects of the ir li ves (fi nan cial sta tus, so cial sta tus, cho i ce of fri ends, etc.). Is ex tre mely im por tant that stu dents du ring the study to be awa re of the im por tan ce of their pro fes sion, be ca u se it will help them to suc cessfully end the study com men ced. The dif fe ren ces in per for man ce are lin ked with the fun da men tal hu man cha rac te ri stics such as abi li ti es, skills, know led ge, mo ti va tion, etc. Gi ven the Bo log na pro cess, the so cio-econo mic con di ti ons mar kedly that stu dents do not ha ve cle ar know led ge abo ut the ir fu ture pro fes sion. For this re a son, we ha ve con duc ted re se arch with the aim to in ve sti ga te whet her the re is a dif fe ren ce in self-per for man ce among stu dents of so cial sci en ce and bio-teh ni cal area of sci en ce. The study al so par ti ci pa ted stu dents of Ki ne si o logy and Agri cul tu re fa culty at the Uni ver sity of Za greb, who are re pre sen ta ti ves of the men ti oned are as of sci en ce. Sur veyed the 374 stu dents (46.25% fe ma le stu dent). Ap plied the anonymo us qu e sti on na i re of 12 sta te ments that stu dents are as ses sed on the sca le of 1 to 5, whe re 1 in di ca tes “com ple tely fal se “ 5 “com ple tely true “. The re sults sho wed that the sur veyed stu dents dif fer in as ses sing the per for man ce of self-ef fi cacy to gen der and the area of sci en ce. Pe ar son χ2 analysis sho wed sta ti stically sig ni fi cant dif fe ren ce in the va ri a bles ap plied gi ven the gen der and fa culty. Key words:
