Significance of drawing skills in relation to landscape architecture qualifications

Abstract
This article contains context of significance of drawing during the act of creation of aesthetic and functional public spaces as well as significance of drawing skills in relation to qualifications of landscape architects. An emphasis was put not only on results coming from acquired skills but also on the ways of process of acquisition of those. In this article there are given two exercises in detail: exercise no. 1 „Random composition of flat and various geometric figures, as well as composition on a given topic – proportions, point, dominant, rhythm, symmetry, concentration, parallel” and exercise no. 2 „Analysis of blocks on horizontal and vertical mesh, visualisation”. Both tasks are here to serve development of creativity in students during the process of construction and design of arranged flat compositions containing artistic and aesthetic values, and a development of spacial imagination directed at creation of harmonious, appropriate three dimensional compositions. These skills are useful in creation of basic boards and in appropriate assortment of proportion of larger elements, their distance from each another and in production of visualisation. Stated in the article is a short characteristics of types of drawings (artistic drawing, hand drawing, technical drawing), as well as mutual affinity in the process of green environmental creation of projects. Every type of drawing is supported with presentation of selected university work of students studying drawing at Landscape Architecture course at Department of Biology and Agriculture of the University of Rzeszow, as well as diploma work.
