slugHeat Loss Reduction in Submerged Electric Furnace Using Finite Element Analysis for Efficiency Improvement

Abstract

Now a day energy saving is the main challenged among human beings. Compare to other type of energy Electric energy and Heat energy are the most important energy comes in front everywhere in surrounding. This report concentrate on types of heat losses and it gives important criteria to overcome or to reduce heat losses. The main purpose of this study is concentration on the criteria affecting of heat loss reduction for purpose of saving electric energy that supplied to Sub Merged Electric Furnace(SEF) to melt raw material for the manufacturing of Ceramic Fiber. To reduced convective heat loss in to water from hot melt of raw material thermal analysis will be covered. Here analysis will be done by classical methodology(analysis by mathematical calculation) as well as Finite Element Analysis(analysis by ANSYS analysis software). Finite Element Analysis give the accurate result from analysis and it generate actual condition of heat distribution in SEF. At last comparison will be done on previous condition of heat losses and at modified condition of heat losses. And carry out most appropriate way of solution to reduce convective heat loss in Submerged Electric Furnace.
