„SMALL HOMELANDS” AS AN EXISTENTIAL MOTIVE IN THE WORK OF ANDRZEJ STASIUK IN THE GLOBALIST PROCESSES OF THE MODERN WORLD

Abstract
The article examines the problem of „small homelands” in contemporary. Polish literature, namely in the work of Andrzej Stasiuk. The heroes of Stasiuk ́s prose, travelling while trying to explore different culture and countries, looking for the meaning of their lives, and rooting in the local life helps them to return to a living equilibrium. This is where a whole series of "small homelands" originated, where so many images of familiar areas are presented so colorfully, but an avalanche, which has begun to bear all differences and differences in the way of globalization. The globalization process has rapidly entered the countries of Central Europe after the collapse of the communist regime and it may have seemed that it would completely change the existing society. In the narrator's view, cruel emptiness and gray gave birth to a hero seeking his place for rooting.
