Abstract
The article deals with the problem of learning motivation in the process of foreign language studies through the comparison of national and cultural peculiarities of the two cultures involved: a student’s native one which he/she acquires at a genetic level, and a foreign one that he/she needs for adaptation in a new social environment for getting higher education.
