Journal Title: Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation - Year 2007, Vol 8, Issue 3

Abstract

The philosophy and the concept of social security in the Republic of Macedonia as well as the national and international documents according to which social security is realized in the country were presented at the Conference of Southeastern Europe on Experience from carrying out the National strategies for equal rights of people with disabilities and comments on their realization. Social security is a social condition in which a range of social and legal measures successfully act. Its basic aim is in favour of the citizens and their community to create a certain kind of guarantee against certain “risks” which each citizen faces with within the community, such as illness, disability, elder age, unemployment, accident at work etc. In every society there is a part of the population or social groups that are not able to realize their social security on the basis of their current or past labor. Therefore special aspects of solidarity develop in relation to the equality and provision of essential conditions for development of child and social care. Social care covers the activities that are undertaken in order to protect people unable to work, without means for life, as well as to protect citizen that according to their work and on the basis of their work, on the basis of their legal support, on the basis of their property and property rights.
