Abstract

The article discusses the showing of the insurgency of the peasants in the South of Ukraine in the creativity of the famous Ukrainian writer and playwright Yu. Yanovsky. In the spiritual formation of Yu. Yanovsky played a significant role his native South Ukrainian step, glorified victorious uprisings of 1919, and friendships with such different people as Yu. Tyutyunnik, A. Dovzhenko and M. Hvulovy. The basis of the novel «The Four swords» was based on facts related to the peasant insurgent movement in the South of Ukraine. The novel was sharply condemned by critics as a socialist nationalist, untruthful, defamatory of the triumphal action of the Red Army. Therefore, «The Four swords» became the last composition in which Yu. Yanovsky was still himself. Novel «Riders» is a kind of spiritual death Yu. Yanovsky, who is forced to renounce former violent youth in the ranks of the units of the UPR and move to the positions of socialist realism. Not by chance, in literary studies it is widely believed that after the «Riders» lyrical and romantic pathos in the works of Yu. Yanovsky began to fade. The present recognition of Yu.
