Społeczność żydowska dębickiego sztetla na przełomie XIX i XX wieku

Abstract
At the turn of the 19th and 20th century Dębica was an example of a typical Galician town mostly inhabited by the Jewish population. Unfortunately, since the source materials were insuf- ficiently preserved, it is impossible to fully present the history of the Jewish municipality in Dębica. Only rudimentary reconstruction could have been performed by the author in the pre- sent article based on the source materials collected by the National Archive in Cracow and the Prince Czartoryski Library in Cracow as well as on the accounts found in the Dębica memory book. The article focuses on presenting the everyday life of the inhabitants of the Dębica shtetl, description of the relations between the Jewish and Polish populations as well as the participa- tion of Jews in city management and the occupational structure of people of the Jewish faith.
