Sport Dimension of Social Values in the Philosophical Views of Ancient Greeks.

Abstract

The complex analysis of virtually unexplored in social philosophy questions of formation and transformation of fundamental values such as Good, Kindness, Beauty, Justice from the perspective of sports activities in the philosophical views of the ancient Greeks is made in this article .The interaction processes of humanization and transformation of semantic load of such keywords as "exercise," "to train", "athlete" in the direction of their philosophical content is installed. It was determined that the value on the one hand should, be understood as something positive and on other hand should be seen as a significance of values but the axiology should be interpreted as a theory of relevance. The author examines the crucial question of correlation between language and activities, including sports, which led process of transformation of meaning of the word "exercise" in ancient times as purely physical into the exercise of reason and freedom that contains not so much physical as moral content. In the article the thesis is based on appearing of axiology as an independent branch of philosophical knowledge and led to the differentiation of being meaning into 2 parts such as reality and values as an object of aspiration and desires of individual, which self-actiwilized in the activities, including sports. The author draws attention to the need for further, complex analysis of such fundamental values as beauty, sports activities which were considered by such philosophies as Plato and Aristotle. An important result of the study is that the author is based on relevant philosophical sources, made an analysis not only of philosophical beliefs of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, in the forwards of social values, but their direct involvement in the sport life of ancient Greece that expands our conception of the content its philosophical essence and sport culture.
