STATISTICAL ASSESSMENT OF UKRAINE’S EXTERNAL POSITION USING BALANCE OF PAYMENTS AND INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT POSITION

Abstract
Information about the balance of payments and international investment position is crucial in the development of national and international economic policies. Economic policies of countries are often focused on specific goals, which, in turn, affect the balance of payments. For example, a country may have a policy of attracting foreign investment in a particular sector. Another country may try to keep its currency at an artificially established level in order to stimulate exports and increase its foreign exchange reserves. The impact of these policies is ultimately taken into account in the balance of payments and international investment position reports.
