Statistical estimation of educational migration: threats and perspectives

Abstract
The article defines that the main cause of migration, including educational, is the globalization of global space. Modern society is in search of ensuring and improving the quality of life through the acquisition of relevant knowledge, as well as further employment. The purpose of the study is to identify threats and prospects for the development of educational migration processes based on statistical evaluation. The methodological and informational basis of the work consists of scientific works, materials of periodicals, Internet resources, legal acts and data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science and UNESCO. The article is devoted to the study of migration processes, in particular educational migration. The author analyzed the mobility of students across Europe, as well as the net migration coefficient. It was determined that the coefficient of student mobility includes indicators: the number of students from a given country studying abroad of the total number of students in this country and the number of foreign students who study in a given country. The article analyzes educational migration in three groups of countries, which are conventionally divided into European Union leader countries (Great Britain, France, Germany), Eastern European countries (Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia) and post-Soviet countries (Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus). The author highlighted the threats of educational migration for Ukraine and the prospects for the development of higher education by attracting foreign citizens into the educational space of the country. In the article, the advantages of teaching foreign citizens in the host country include: economic benefits, attractiveness of higher education institutions, integration of national higher education institutions into the international educational space, growth of the innovation component of education, the ability to rejuvenate the population structure, attract intellectuals to the country.
