STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THERMOSENSITIVE CHITOSAN GLUTAMINATE HYDROGELS
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2013, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
Hydrogels that possess the ability of gelling in response to changes in the local environment, such as pH or temperature, have been examined extensively recently. In this paper the properties of thermosensitive chitosan hydrogels prepared with the use of chitosan glutaminate and β-glycerophosphate are presented. The sol/gel transition point was determined based on the rheological properties. The structure of gels was observed under the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and was investigated by thermogravimetric (TG) and differential themogravimetric (DTG) analysis and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The crystallinity of gel structure was determined by X-ray Diffraction analysis (XRD).

SPIN-COATED CHITOSAN ON COPOLYESTER SUBSTRATES
In this work, uniform thin chitosan coatings were spin coated onto copolyester substrate. The use of high concentration acetic acid (50 wt.%) as the chitosan solvent increased the protonation of chitosan amino groups, al...
THE EFFECT OF POLOXAMER 407 ON THE PROPERTIES OF HYDROPHILIC GELS CONTAINING LACTIC ACID COMPLEXED WITH CHITOSAN
Anatomical and physiological conditions in the vagina do not facilitate easy application of the drug neither its maintenance on the site of application. Insufficient duration of the drug’s contact with vaginal mucosa doe...
THE STRENGTH OF CHITOSAN FILMS. THE ROLE OF MOLECULAR WEIGHT, THE DEGREE OF ORDER, THE NATURE OF CONTRE-ION
The deformational-strength characteristics of chitosan films with different molecular weight and the degree of deacetylation derived from water-acid solutions with different nature and concentration have been researched....
HAEMOSTATIC, RESORBABLE DRESSING OF NATURAL POLYMERS - HEMOGUARD

IN VIVO STIMULATION OF PERITONEAL CELLS BY CHITOSAN ADMINISTERED IN DRINKING WATER TO MICE
The aim of the study was to determine immunostimulant properties of chitosan administered alimentary to BALB/c mice. We observed that chitosan feeding effected in activation of cells from the peritoneal cavity. The cells...
