STRUCTURAL TYPES OF UKRAINIAN ANALYTICAL FORESTRY TERMS

Abstract
Purpose. It is the analysis of term structure that is a critically important condition for a comprehensive and detailed study of term systems. The purpose of the present article is to determine the structural types of Ukrainian forestry terms, to analyze the structural characteristics of Ukrainian analytical forestry terms, and to establish the structural models of two-component terms within Ukrainian forestry terminology. Methodology. The use of combinatorial methods of terminology studies, in particular, modeling, makes it possible to distinguish the structural models from phrasal terms that express the morphological composition of components, as well as the location of elements in a given term. Findings. In the Ukrainian language, forestry terminology system consists of term units of two types: synthetic terms (one-word terms) and analytical terms (which combine several units in its composition). Ukrainian forestry terminology has the largest number of analytical terms. According to their quantitative composition, analytical forestry terms are divided into two-component, three-component and multi-component ones. Twocomponent phrases are the most numerous in the forestry terminology. Practical value and results. The study of the structural organization of the forestry terms has helped to identify the structural models of term combinations of the Ukrainian forestry terminology and to note the need for the regulation and standardization of the Ukrainian forestry terms at the structural level.
