Students’ Perception and Its Impact on Ghanaian Students’ Interest in Mathematics: Multivariate Statistical Analytical Approach
Journal Title: Asian Research Journal of Mathematics - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
The study aims at addressing the effect of students’ perception and its impact on student interest in Mathematics using multivariate statistical techniques. One Thousand Two Hundred and Sixty Three (1263) students were drawn from ten (10) Senior High Schools in the Ashanti region of Ghana using structured questionnaires to investigate the effect and impact of student perception on their interest in Mathematics. The study used multivariate techniques to investigate and further predict the effect and impact of student perception on student interest in Mathematics. The study concluded that, negative perception of student about Mathematics significantly influence their interest in Mathematics negatively however, students perception explains almost 9% (P<0.001) of students interest in Mathematics. The study recommended for practice teaching methods that inculcates motivations to help reduce bad perception to optimize interest.

Energy of Fuzzy Regular and Graceful Graphs
Energy of graph and energy of fuzzy graph is the sum of the absolute values of the eigen values of adjacency matrix. The concept of energy of fuzzy graph is extended to fuzzy regular, totally regular and graceful graphs...
Some Power Sums from the Geometric Series
We focus on the summation of Σn r=1 (r + k − 1)! (r − 1)! xr+k and express it as simple polynomials and nd a relation between them.
Subharmonic Solutions of Governed MEMS System Subjected to Parametric and External Excitations
Subharmonic periodic solutions of order ( 1 2 , 1 4 ) to a weakly second order ordinary differential equation which governed the motion of a micro-dynamical system are studied analytically. Applying the method of multipl...
Modelling Volatility of Asset Returns in Nigerian Stock Market: Applications of Random Level Shifts Models
This study examines the impact of structural breaks on conditional variance and mean reversion in symmetric and asymmetric GARCH models. A multiple breakpoint testing procedure was used to identify structural break point...
Dynamic Response of Non-prismatic Bernoulli Euler Beam with Exponentially Varying Thickness Resting on Variable Elastic Foundation
In this paper, the motion of a non-prismatic Bernoulli-Euler beam with exponentially varying thickness resting on variable elastic foundation and under the loads moving with constant velocity is analyzed. The governing e...
