Study on characteristics of UBF during start-up and run

Abstract
An experimental study on the characteristics of UBF during start-up and run for treating a chemical-industrial wastewater (with cyclohexanol, cyclohexane and a little Na2SO4) was carried out. Results indicate that the COD removal efficiency reached the highest (82%) when the VLR of COD increased to 2.12 kg/m3•d. The anaerobic granule sludge was formed in the UBF reactor. The experiment educes the characters of UBF that it can start up quickly and run stably for disposing refractory organic wastewater.
