Stylistic means of creating the portrait of protagonist (on the basis of “The Story of Bandbox” by R. L. Stevenson)

Abstract
he given article is devoted to the investigation of the narrative compositional form “description”, namely, its variety “portrait”. It contains the analysis of pragmatic functions of portrait. Moreover, there is a detailed description of stylistic means that are used to create the portrait of protagonist in “The Story of Bandbox” by R.L. Stevenson. Special attention is paid to the notion “imagery”.
