Abstract
The article is aiming to show the adequate approach to the professional engagement of the teachers. Based on the analysis and systematization of scientifical works it has been summed up that professional engagement of the teacher is being dependent, to the big extend, on his/her professional competency. Based on the works of the scientists it is being pointed out, that integral parts of competency are informational, psychological, subjectable, communicational and social competency.
