SUFFIXAL WORD BUILDING IN THE SUBSTANTIVE RHETORICAL TERMINOLOGY OF CICERO
Journal Title: ІНОЗЕМНА ФІЛОЛОГІЯ - Year 2015, Vol 128, Issue
Abstract
The absolute majority of substantive rhetorical terms of Cicero are words, borrowed from common literary language, already created by specific word building models. Structural-semantic analysis allows to make the conclusion that they are based on verbal (suffixes –tio -sio, -tus; -tura, -tor, -tum, -entia, -or, -ulu, -culu, -mentum, -men) and nominative (suffixes –tudo, -tas, itia, -icu, -ulu, -culu, -inu, -ariu) models.
