Supply Networks as a way towards the growth of the innovation of services in the sector of distribution

Abstract
In many lines of business distributional enterprises take over the burden of synchronizing the demand and supply aspects of a supply chain. Their role is growing especially on very dynamic markets, with variable demand, a short product life cycle. Then one of the strategy is to postpone production and shift the last stage by manufacturers onto distribution enterprises. In the article one discusses differentiated business models of enterprises undertaking cooperation in distribution networks with postponed production in the context of their aspiration to improve the innovativeness of services. Simultaneously one indicated differences in the models of the investigated logistic and distributional enterprises, participating in the distribution sector and jointly responsible for the efficiency of logistic processes. Combining differentiated specialized resources was presented as an opportunity to offer new unique services as well as, due to the postponed production, product forms in distribution. Possibilities of cooperation of enterprises in the distribution sector are differentiated in particular business lines, however in many publications from the last few years one underlines their part in the growth of innovativeness. The article is therefore an attempt to recapitulate the first stage of research realized within the framework of the research work: A support system for logistic decisions made by an integrator of the distribution network as exemplified by metallurgic products. Owing to the project assumptions considered in the article, the problems referring to enterprises cooperating in the distribution network of metallurgic products within the range of material resources, (warehouses and machines), which they have at their disposal.
