Surrounded by breakthroughs in Mykolaiv «pocket» the troops of the Southern Front in August 1941

Abstract
In the article the military-strategic situation before and after the break the encirclement of the Southern Front of Mykolayiv «pocket» in August 1941. We study the preparation and progress of operations on withdrawal of troops surrounded the 18th Army in the Hreyhove station, which entered the history of World War II as «Hreyhovskiy breakthrough». The main strategic result of the battle for the Mykolayiv was that the enemy was not able to defeat Southern Front in the «pocket», which is on the left bank of the Dnieper took defensive positions at the end of August 1941. During these days from Mykolayiv to Sevastopol managed to tow the 24 unfinished ships and submarines. At the last moment sappers blew up the main facilities of shipyards of Mykolayiv. In conjunction with the heroic actions of the Underground that made it impossible to build any warships for the German navy. Over the entire period of occupation of the Nazis failed to introduce in their fleet or a military vessel. All this was part of the future victory over the enemy.
