Sustainable Development and Environmental Ethics

Abstract
In this article, sustainable development, its components, its development at the global level, at the European Union as an example of a regional level, and in Turkey will be studied. The place of sustainable development in environmental ethics in relation to anthropocentric, bio-centric, and eco-centric ethical approaches will also be examined. The issue of future generations will be adressed. Basic assumptions of the criticism of sustainable development will be explicated.
