Sustainable development reporting as a challenge for companies in 21st century

Abstract
In the last years the issue of data reporting on sustainable development has become for many companies very important and necessary, due to the ex-pectations of investors and changes in legal regulations on environment protection. The article discusses the main factors influencing the growing interest in the concept of sustainable development. Addresses the issue of corporate social responsibility and its goals and objectives, and provides evidence for Sustaina-bility Reporting. GRI has been identified as the leading organization dedicated to the issue of reporting non-financial data, and presents the level of Polish CSR reporting against the global trends in the field.
