SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES IN A CHITOSAN SOLUTION
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2010, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
In the present study silver nanoparticles were obtained using the ability of chitosan to form chelate compounds with metal ions and taking advantage of its reducing properties. The reduction process was conducted at the temperature 60°C or applying γ radiation from 60Co cobalt source. A preliminary characteristic which allows us to realize the size of formed silver nanoparticles was made on the basis of the measurements of UV absorption and dynamic light dispersion.

A REVIEW OF THE PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY OF DYEING CHITIN AND CHITOSAN
The literature on the adsorption and diffusion of anionic dyes, including acid, direct, reactive and metal-complexed dyes, on chitin and chitosan is reviewed. The similarity of the overall chain structure of cellulose to...
THE MECHANISM OF SORPTION OF Ag+ IONS ON CHITOSAN MICROGRANULES: IR AND NMR STUDIES
The method IR and NMR have been used to study the structure of chitosan microgranules chelated by Ag+ ions. The change of the structure was confirmed by XRD diffractograms which illustrated the crystalline structure. Ana...
PHARMACEUTICAL ASSESSMENT OF GYNAECOLOGICAL POWDERS WITH SODIUM ALGINATE CONTAINING A LACTIC ACID-CHITOSAN COMPLEX
The insufficient duration of the drug’s contact with the vaginal mucosa does not provide adequate pH, conditioning the physiological biocenosis of the organ. This effect is hampered by numerous anatomic and physiological...
THE EFFECT OF A POLYVINYL ALCOHOL AND DEXTRANE ON THE PROPERTIES OF THERMOSENSITIVE HYDROPHILIC GELS CONTAINING LACTIC ACID COMPLEXED WITH CHITOSAN
Gels containing lactic acid complexed with chitosan at a stoichiometric ratio 1:1 and 2:1 and 5 - 25% content of polyoxyethylene glycol 200 reveal pH from 2.5 to 4.6. The addition of 20 – 25% poloxamer 407 increases the...
THE INFLUENCE OF CHITOSAN FLAKE DEACETYLATION DEGREE ON ORTHOPHOSPHATE SORPTION EFFICIENCY FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS
The article presents the effectiveness of orthophosphate sorption from aqueous solutions depending on the deacetylation degree of chitosan flakes. The first stage of the research was to determine the pH value at which th...
