Journal Title: Здоров`я дитини - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 64
Abstract
The clinical manifestations of the disease caused by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) are diverse and include both infectious mononucleosis and damage of the liver, nervous system and other organs. Damage of the nervous system (meningoencephalitis) caused by EBV may have isolated clinical course or run concurrently with infectious mononucleosis or hepatitis (syntropy). The paper presents a case of acute EBV infection in a 16-year-old child diagnosed with hepatitis and meningoencephalitis.
