Technical mishandles occurring in building renovation and modernization
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 9
Abstract
The paper presents current technical requirements related to adaptations, extentions and modernizations of building facilities according to the binding legal and technical documents. It also presents the technical reasons that affect the reliability and durability of repairs and modernizations which occur at the designing and the execution stages. The most common errors and deviations from the accepted principles are listed. At the end, some examples from the practice both in design and in execution are discussed, referring to all types of buildings. Also some proposals were formulated. They related to the elimination of technical errors and improvement of the quality of realized repairs, strengthening and modernizations.

Potassium permanganate as an oxidizing and flocculating agent in groundwater treatment
The effectiveness of groundwater treatment with a high amount of organic substances and general iron depended on the kind of oxidizing agent, the kind and dose of coagulant, and the time of sedimentation. The effectivene...
Post-mining landscape ecology - analysis of selected problems, the case of Adamów Brown Coal basin
The paper presents the main problems of the development of post-mining area landscapes, which are due to the ignoring or including, to a small extend, the environmental criteria in the process of reclamation. It refers t...
INVESTIGATION ON LOAD CAPACITY OF STEEL CONCRETE COMPOSITE COLUMNS SRC REINFORCED BY IPE
In this study, a column with section IPE and different lengths, completely embedded in concrete, is modelled by finite element software ABAQUS. Columns under different biaxial loading were used and graphs of axial force-...
STABILITY AND LOAD BEARING CAPACITY OF A BARS WITH BUILT UP CROSS SECTION AND ELASTIC SUPPORTS
The present paper is devoted to the numerical analysis and experimental tests of compressed bars with built–up cross section which are commonly used as a top chord of the roof trusses. The significant impact on carrying...
On the tolerance averaging of heat conduction for periodic hexagonal-type composites
The paper deals periodic composites which two-dimensional material structure is determined by the anisotropic conductivity matrix invariant with respect to the pair of translations such that the periodic cell determined...
