ТЕЛЕФОННИЙ ПРАНК ЯК ПОРУШЕННЯ СОЦІАЛЬНО ВИЗНАНИХ ФРЕЙМІВ СПІЛКУВАННЯ

Abstract
The article critically analyses the definitions of the term “prank” and its synonymous expressions in English and defines its general characteristics in modern telephone mediated communication. On the basis of the communicative and pragmatic analyses of audio and video recordings and transcripts of prank calls, telephone prank is proved to be what Goffman calls a “fabricated frame” – a communicative context in which one participant (a caller, who acts as a prankster) approaches the interaction as play, while the other one (a call taker) regards it as reality. The author attempts to study the communicative behavior of the participants, especially of pranksters who tend to violate the social norms of interpersonal communication.
