TELEVISION COVERAGE OF LOCAL POLITICAL PROCESSES (ON THE EXAMPLE OF NEWS ISSUES OF THE CENTRAL TELEVISION OF UKRAINE IN 2016–2017)

Abstract
The article analyzes the distribution of political forces in the Ukrainian media market in the context of coverage of regional events on the air of the national Ukrainian TV channels. The author demonstrates that the television media informing the audience violates the standards of journalism in favor of political partners of the owners of TV channels. The results of the monitoring revealed engagement and tendentiousness. The evidence is given on the example of some channels and their production. In the conclusions, the author emphasizes the threats of such manipulation of facts and representation of the information to the political consciousness of the citizens of Ukraine, as well as the impact of biased coverage of regional news by the all-Ukrainian media on the socio-political situation in the country.
