The Actual Prayer in the Holy Qur'an

Abstract
Prayer is one of the fundamental concepts in the Qur'an that Allah's appeal to people. Prayer is the most beautiful expression of worship, which shapes the relationship of people with Creator and expresses the relationship among living creatures. The concept of actual prayer, which means the effort spent by people before and during prayer, is not used in the Qur'an. However, in the context of verses about prayer, the need of actual prayer is emphasized and actual prayers of various prophets given as examples. In our study titled ‚actual prayer in the Qur’an‛, initially the significance and meaning of prayer and its place in the Qur’an will be presented; and then, the actual prayer will be examined from the Qur’anic point of view. Connection between relevant verses and actual prayer will be presented and some examples of actual prayers from the lives of the prophets will be given.
