The analysis of the process tending towards equilibrium in transitional and turbulent wall flows
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Starting from the integro-differential formulation (IDF) [1], [2] of the basic conservation equations in wall flows, the authors perform a qualitative analysis of the microscopic-macroscopic domain. According to IDF, the kinetical energy presents a mean distribution and a lot of similar terms called FLUONS. Their various combinations lead to physical fluctuations and their dynamical equilibrium concerns the existence of an associated distribution of the kinetical energy, which is a solution of IDF. The global contributions of the fluctuations are, therefore, estimated as analytical formulae for the wall flows. The experiments confirm these results.

Runway incursions – clear and constant danger
Runway safety plays an important role in aviation industry. This paper deals with runway safety – runway incursion as a serious safety concern. Focusing attention on this issue is necessary due to many collisions with a...
Calculation of the zeros of some special functions
We consider solutions, with infinity of zeros, of real second-order linear differential equations. The graph of a solution locates the zeros with a certain precision, which means that zeros are between some successive nu...

Direct spatial motion simulation of aircraft subjected to engine failure
This paper presents a simulation of the movement of an aircraft that has an engine malfunction. The nonlinear equations of motion are formulated taking into account the yawing moment which is generated and occurs due to...
Some Aspects Regarding the Modeling of Highly Pressurized Squeeze Film Dampers
Squeeze film dampers (SFD) have been used for many years to control vibration in gas turbines and other high-speed rotating machinery. The overall objective of this paper is to present the analysis and validation of a dy...
