THE ANALYSIS OF TRIBOTESTER INFLUENCE ON FRICTION COEFFICIENT ESTIMATION
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2010, Vol 234, Issue 6
Abstract
The article presents the research results of friction coefficient measurements with the use of different tribotesters. Different friction couples materials were investigated. The experiments were carried out on tester T10 with a vertical (T10V) and horizontal (T10H) position of the friction couple and tester T11 with the axis in a vertical position. The research was planned with the use of the Tagutchi method in order to process parameter determination that enable the research results scatter to be minimised. The analysis presented in the article concern the identification of the tribotester’s influence on the dry friction coefficient in different conditions of the friction process. Based on experimental results, conducted for different materials on different tribotesters, the process parameters of humidity, load, and velocity influence on the measurements of the friction coefficient was also estimated.

SOLUTIONS OF WATER STERICALLY SPECIFIC SURFACTANTS AS MODEL ECOLOGICAL CUTTING FLUIDS
From the large group of surfactants with branched chains, sulfosuccinate derivatives obtained based on 2-ethylhexyl alcohol were selected. The surfactant of reference was ethoxylated sulfosuccinate with an alkyl chain (C...
ANALYSIS OF THE DEGREE OF HYDRO-THERMAL FATIGUE DAMAGE OF THE SURFACE LAYER OF POLYMER-CERAMIC COMPOSITES INTENDED FOR OPERATION IN A BIOTRIBOLOGICAL NODE
The paper addresses the problem of assessing the operational quality of the surface layer (SL) of polymerceramic composites. These materials are used in conservative dentistry to reproduce geometrical features of human l...
THE INFLUENCE OF SLIPPAGE ON WEAR AND MICROSTRUCTURAL CHANGES OF A BAINITIC RAIL STEEL
During operating, more intense wear of rails is observed on curves, slopes, and places of frequent rail vehicle starting. In these places, a higher slippage between wheels and rails occurs. Thus, the slippage is a signif...
EFFECT OF LASER HARDENING OF STEEL ON THE WEAR PROCESS IN AN ABRASIVE SOIL MASS
This paper presents the results of tests for the effects of laser hardening on the course and intensity of wear of 38GSA (38MnSi4) and Hardox 600 steels in an abrasive soil mass. The tests were carried out under laborato...
EVALUATION OF THE HOMOGENEITY OF THE WORKING SURFACE OF CAST IRON BRAKE DISCS
This article deals with the one of the most important elements of modern braking systems, which is a brake disc. A brake disc is the one of more stressed parts of the braking system, and its quality and design largely de...
