THE ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF BLOOD SERUM OF WISTAR RATS EXPOSED 131I IN UTERO

Abstract

In a pilot study to determine the status of antioxidant activity in the blood serum exposed in utero due to the incorporation of 131I Wistar rats used a simple, accessible and highly informative method. This method uses autooxide adrenaline reaction in an alkaline medium, which is a superoxide-generating and superoxide detection system allowing to determine the anti- and pro-oxidant properties of the biological material. It was shown that serum intact rats inherent antioxidant properties.. As a result of exposure to the conditions of this experiment, depletion of antioxidant capacity and increased serum proantioxydant properties of irradiated animals.
