The career practice evaluation of geodesy study programme in Klaipeda state college

Abstract
Career practice is a part of a study process. During the career practi ce a student can apply and deepen gained theoretical knowledge, practical skills and general abilities in a real work environment as well as get acquainted with the newest technologies and equipment, production economics which wi ll provide a better orientation and adaptation in a job market and social life. The surveys of students‘practice leaders and employers provide information about the possibilities for the improvement of study programmes. In this article the career practices are defined and the results of the perform ed research are presented. Discussing research results it has been pursued to define students‘ readiness for the career practice, to survey students‘ opinion about the organization of the career practice, its efficiency, supervision, compatibility with study aims as well as to survey employers‘ opinion about students‘ competence level and alteration between their knowledge and skills. It has been researched that students have enough theoretical and practical knowledge, the level of their abilities corresponds to specific evaluation criteria, students also appreciate professional competences gained during the career practice and its applicability in a real work environment.
