The Coase theorem in the light of law and economics

Abstract
The article discusses the Coase theorem from the perspective of law and economics. Different conceptualizations of the theorem are presented, with special emphasis on the concept of transaction costs. Another problem addressed in the article is the relation between transaction costs and legal regulations, manifested in specific relationships. Economic analysis will be applied to selected regulations of the Polish law.
