THE CONCEPT OF POST-TRUTH IN CONTEMPORARY PHILOSOPHICAL AND EVERYDAY WORLD: RETHINKING

Abstract
In 2016, according to the Oxford Dictionary, the status of the «word of the year» was assigned to the expression «post-truth». At the same time, what exactly does this word mean is ambiguous, and professional philosophical re-flections about its content are almost absent. In this article, an attempt to reflect about this notion was made. Main background for the elaboration is based on the materials of understanding the problem of truth in analytic philosophy, namely, analytical epistemology in general, and with direct appeal to such classical authors of this tradition as F. Ramsey, R. Rorty, B. Williams. The problem of truth has been and remains extremely complicated because of the ambiguity of approaches to its solving (both classical – correspondent, coherent, pragmatic, as well as deflationary ones); at the same time, complexity of methodological conceptualizations about truth concerns at least such statuses of truth as relation, feature, assessment, norm, fact, goal and value. The post-truth, as seeming of truth, does not op-pose to falsity, lie, insincerity; and, as a concept, may appear significant to conceive of the dangers and foundations of the contradictory events of the present times, of evaluations and discourses about these events. In the context of post-truth, a politician who has deceived his adherent is right, because his promise to deceive was fulfilled.
