THE DISCUSSIONS OF MULTICULTURALISM IN THE CONTEXT OF POSTMODERNITY AND THE RECOGNITION OF CULTURAL DIFFERENCES

Abstract
Multiculturality is a concept which has been used widely in the discussions regarding the recognition of differences and solving the problems concerning these differences in the last half century of social sciences. The aim of this study is displaying the discussions on multicultural structure and politics which means a heterogenous coexistence in society and evaluating literature on multiculturality the in a comparative perspective. In other words, we try to deal with the theoretical foundations of the concept along with the social and political developments. Furthermore, the objective of the study is the comprehension of how postmodernity involves the concept of multiculturality as multiculturality is often related to the emergence and the conceptualization of postmodernity.
