The diversity of business sector in terms of structural change and economic situation in Poland in 2004–2013 – the national and regional approach

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is the identification of development trends in the corporate sector in Poland (with particular emphasis on small- and medium-sized enterprises in comparison with changes in the entire enterprise sector) as well as the diversity of the number of entities in the regions. The time scope embraces years 2004–2013 mainly. The first part of the article focuses on the role of entrepreneurship its transformation and the dynamics of change. In the second part we analyzed statistical material on regional disparities of the enterprise sector in Poland.
