The Effect of Leadership Style in Meeting the Hierarchal Needs of Bank Employees of Western Mazandaran

Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to compare the leadership styles of western Mazandaran province in meeting the hierarchal needs of the bank employees. The research methodology saw causative and comparative. The participants of the study were 282 bank managerw and employees of western Mazandaran who were randomly selected according to Morgan's table. To assess the leadership style, the researcher used the standard Bardens and Motskas questionnaire and Jones and Fifers' standard questionnaire for the employees' hierarchy of needs. The reliability of the leadership questionnaire and hierarchy of needs was calculated by alpha Cronbach formula, they are 96% and 92% respectively. The respectful supervisor and advisor confirmed the validity of the questionnaires. The researches, then, used MANOVA test to analyze the data. The following are the results of the present study: the physiological needs of the employees under the duty center leadership are more than those with relation based management. Those employee under the relation based management need security, social belongings, respect, and self improvement more than those under the duty centered leadership.
