The effect of the Slow-Stroke back massage on fatigue of dialyzed patients

Abstract

Fatigue is the most common side effect that is known as one of the most stressful factors, and it is expressed as a debilitating factor, aim of this study was to study the effect of back massage on fatigue in hemodialysis patients by Slow-Stroke method. This study is available as clinical trial with 60 simple examples; it was done in the city of Ardabil in Bu- Ali hospital in dialysis ward on hemodialysis patients. The Piper Fatigue Scale questionnaire in three times (starting days 15th and thirtieth) was completed by both groups. Finally, the results were analyzed spss 13 software. Descriptive statistics and analysis of variance tests, Repeat Measures ,Independent Samples T Test were used to analyze data and to communicate results. The results showed that there is significantly different between the different groups tested at baseline and end of study (P =003/0), and there was not observed significant differences the start up time of 15 days to 15 days of the end of the study. The analysis of variance showed that among the groups at the end of the study there was a significant difference (0/ 05>P). This study showed that massage therapy for 30 days resulted in a reduction in fatigue and to feel comfort by patients.
