THE FEATURES OF THE FICTIONAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE EVANGELICAL PLOT ADORATION OF THE MAGI IN MICHEL TOURNIER'S NOVEL “GASPARD, MELCHIOR ET BALTHAZAR”

Abstract
The article analyzes the features of the fictional transformation of the evangelical plot Adoration of the Magi in Michel Tournier's novel “Gaspard, Melchior et Balthazar”; the essence of the author's idea about the fundamental importance of the Jesus Christ's coming to the world is revealed; the means of translating of this idea are considered, in particular the function of the plot and narrative techniques, the role of intertextual elements and textual symbolism.
