The formal preparing of the inspection bodies to supervise the food safety in Poland

Abstract
The consumers’ safety is becoming more and more important and therefore it should be supported and examined by the appropriate inspection bodies. The consumers’ food safety supervising bodies demonstrate conformity to law regulations and to other requirements. The inspection bodies supervising food safety check the conformity of the food quality with the requirements of the food law since they should be prepared to realize their tasks. The article presented below deals with formal preparation of the inspection bodies supervising food safety in Poland. This issue was researched and analysed with the use of comparison of organizational documentation of these inspection bodies with the requirements of ISO 17020 including the general criteria for the operation of various types of inspection bodies.
