The image of Pereiaslav in reception of M. Kostomarov and A. Yakovlev: a comparative analysis

Abstract
The article highlights the views of historians M. Kostomarov, and A. Yakovliv on the events related to Pereiaslav Rada and the Ukrainian-Moscow Treaty in 1654. Through a comparative analysis the overall status of the heritage study of both scientists, as well as spring base, character studios, especially the approaches, the evolution of perspectives, socio-cultural and socio-political context that inÀ uenced the formation of concepts of Pereyaslav in the reception of M. Kostomarov and A. Yakovliv were investigated. During the research process the conceptual and creative scienti¿ c achievements of historians in the ¿ eld of the designated theme were challenged, however, differences in the degree of deepening in the theme, updating various aspects of the process of signing the Ukrainian-Moscow Treaty in 1654, differences in the assessment of consequences of accidents and the impact on the further development of historiography were revealed. As a result researchers illuminated an outstanding position in the development of ukrainian historical science, the originality of each of them according to the scienti¿ c areas they represent
