Abstract
This article analyzes the importance of using contextual tasks in the process of organizing independent chemistry learning. The role of contextual tasks in increasing students' interest in the subject and in developing their practical knowledge and competencies is explored from a scientific and methodological perspective. Additionally, ways to improve independent learning and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of contextual tasks are discussed
