The Influence of Learning Model Type Jigsaw and Learning Discipline to Students’ Achievement of Civics in Grade III SD Karya Bakti Helvetia Kec. Sunggal 2017/2018

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of cooperative learning model Jigsaw and discipline of learning on student learning outcomes on the material Understanding the meaning of Youth Pledge in class III Public Private School Bhakti Helvetia T.P 2017/2018. The type of this research is quasi experiment with 2 x 2 factorial design. The population of this research is all the third grade students of SD Karya Bakti Helvetia, that is as many as 2 classes with the number of 60 students. The sample selection is taken by total sampling technique that is from the two existing classes as a whole set as sample. Thus the sample is defined ie class IIIA and class IIIB. The determination of the class for the implementation of the learning model was determined by class IIIA consisting of 30 students for the classes taught by using conventional learning model (lecture) and learning discipline and class IIIB which amounted to 30 students for the classes taught using Jigsaw type learning model and learning discipline. The instrument of this study using multiple choice test result of study as 30 grains and instrument of learning discipline in the form of questionnaire consist of 70 items that have been declared valid and reliable. The data in this study were analyzed by t test. The results showed that the learning outcomes of Civics learners who were taught using a model of learning jigsaw type higher than the learners who were taught using using conventional learning model. Results of learning Civics of learners who have a positive learning discipline is higher than the learning outcomes of students who have a negative learning discipline. There is an interaction between and discipline of learning in influencing student learning outcomes.
