Journal Title: Ginekologia Praktyczna - Year 2006, Vol 88, Issue 1

Abstract

The study group comprised 65 women (52,4±3,6) in the early postmenopausal period with osteopenia, divided into three groups depending on the type and route of administration of the products: I – on transdermal placebo, II – on transdermal hormone replacement therapy, III – on oral hormone adjunctive therapy. We observed serum prolactin and growth hormone levels during 12-mounth therapy had no changed since the study was started in women administrated transdermal HRT. Serum estrogen, estron, PRL and GH concentrations significantly high increased already in 3 mounth treatment during oral hormonal adjunctive therapy. IGF-1 level was decreased in group II (oral rout). In group on transdermal therapy the increase BMD L2–L4 was not significantly higher then in women on oral estrogens.
