The large exposures of the domestic banks in investment certificates.

Abstract
Current status and Authors’ suggestions for change The purpose of this publication is to analyse investment opportunities (as a large exposure) by banks in investment certificates issued by investment funds. In this article the Authors undertake to try to prove that despite the absence of a clear paragraphs in the Polish Acts banks have the opportunity to engage in this type of investment. Article 6 section 1 paragraph 1 of this Act in fine does not regulate directly the possibility of acquisition of investment certificates. In the light of the above, the Authors agree to draw attention to two issues: 1) the issue of involvement of the bank in the investment certificates; 2) investment fund as a financial institution. In conclusion the Authors propose the amendment to the Act of 29 August 1997 on the Banking Law.
