The Level of Satisfaction on Student Services of Saint Mary’s University Senior High School: A Basis Towards Quality Service Delivery

Journal Title: Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal - Year 2025, Vol 35, Issue 8

Abstract

Student satisfaction plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall educational experience and fostering loyalty among students. By identifying strengths and areas for improvement in student services, educational institutions like Saint Mary’s University Senior High School (SMUSHS) can create a fulfilling environment for learning. Prior studies focused on college-level satisfaction and identified challenges, leaving a significant gap in understanding the specific needs and preferences of senior high school students, particularly post-pandemic. This study aimed to assess the level of satisfaction of senior high school students at SMUSHS with various services, including welfare, control, and extracurricular programs. It also sought to identify best practices and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. Employing quantitative and qualitative approaches, the research utilized descriptive-comparative and thematic analyses. Data were collected from 150 respondents, comprising current Grade 12 students and recent alumni, using a validated questionnaire and open-ended responses. The findings revealed general satisfaction across most services, with specific programs showing notable levels of satisfaction, such as guidance and counseling, and extracurricular programs like socio-cultural activities. However, areas such as canteen sanitation and accessibility of health services were noted as needing improvement. No significant differences in satisfaction were found when grouped by batch, gender, or strand, indicating uniform service delivery. Enhancing areas of concern, such as canteen conditions and accessibility to health facilities, can lead to a more comprehensive and satisfying student experience. The findings serve as a basis for SMUSHS to refine its services, further enhancing quality service delivery.
