The principle of good faith in international public and international private law

Abstract
The good faith principle plays a key role in international public and international private law. Despite the same direction and degree of complexity of applying the good faith principle in both systems, its meaning, functions, normative content vary. So far, no unified positions on these issues have been developed either in legal research or practice. The necessity for ensuring observance of the good faith principle in the international legal relations of Ukraine and the legal relations in which Ukrainian entities and individuals take part, preconditions the need for in-depth research of this issue. The purpose of the article is to analyse the most important aspects of applying the good faith principle in the international public and the international private law, to express the author’s position towards each of them, and to substantiate the respective conclusions.
