THE PROSPECTIVE VIEW OF APPLICATION OF MANUKA HONEY IN INTERNAL DISEASES

Abstract

The review of the literature shows the possibility of use of manuka honey with a high contents of methylglyoxal (MGO 400+ and MGO 550+) in therapy of some gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases, mouth, viruses and tumor diseases, and causes also sterilization of hemodialysis catheter . The huge benefit is sensibility of pathogenic microorganisms to manuka honey . Moreover, manuka honey produces a positive interaction with many antibiotics because of the synergistic effect against microorganisms .
